White Rabbit Counseling & Wellness was opened in 2025 with the goal of providing evidence-based and ethical mental health and holistic wellness services, support, and advocacy for Virginia’s diverse and underserved populations - with the purpose of fostering growth, healing, empowerment, and resilience in an affirming, non-judgmental space.
All clients will be accepted and treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin or status, sexual, affectional, or romantic orientation, sex, gender, age, ability, social class, cultural identity or toppings they prefer on a pizza.
Meet the Provider
Hello! I’m Nicky Wells (any pronouns), the owner of White Rabbit Counseling & Wellness. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR trained therapist located in Norfolk, Virginia.
My goal is to build rapport with my clients to help you feel at ease with the process of starting, or continuing, your journey to wellness. I understand that no two people have the same needs when it comes to healing and growth. For this reason, I pull from different therapy modalities, using a person-centered, eclectic approach for my clients, all presented through a trauma-informed, multicultural lens with emphasis on holistic healing for the mind and body. I believe in an integrative approach, tailored to each client to allow you to guide the theoretical focus and application of therapeutic techniques to ensure service is provided at your own pace and level of necessity and comfort.
As an advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community, I provide gender affirming care and letters of support. I am a queer, non-binary, anti-racist, anti-fascist, pro-indigenous, pro-immigrant, pro-DEI practitioner. I offer services to clients of all demographics and backgrounds and provide a body-positive, sex-positive, kink-allied, polyam/ethical non-monogamy allied environment
I believe in removing as many barriers as possible that may prevent someone from starting their journey to healing and personal growth. I am here to provide a supportive, affirming space and walk alongside you on the road to wellness until it delivers you to your destination.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my kitties, traveling, and generally being a giant nerd. A true ambivert, I love going to sci-fi/fantasy/anime events and conventions, but can’t want to return home and enjoy a cup of tea with a good book or objectively bad fanfic. I’m also a big fan of advocacy work and find incredible value and a sense of community in volunteering with local organizations, including Portsmouth Pride and PFLAG Hampton Roads.
